YAMAGUCHI AKIRA
Yamaguchi Akira (b. 1969, Tokyo, Japan) graduated in 1996 with a M.A in Oil Painting and in 1994, a B.A. in Oil Painting from Tokyo University of the Arts, Tokyo, Japan. Some of his solo exhibitions include Muromachi Resonance, Mizuma Art Gallery, Tokyo, Japan (2016), Matsuyama Shift, The Museum of Art, Ehime Prefacture, Japan (2016), YAMAGUCHI Akira: Stepping Back to Seek the Underneath, Contemporary Art Gallery, Art Tower Mito, Ibaraki, Japan (2015) and SINGA-PLANET, Japan Creative Center, Singapore (2011). He engaged in numerous group exhibitions in Japan and the United States. He was also awarded with a runner-up prize for the 4th Taro Okamoto Memorial Award of Celebration in 2013 and 2001 respectively. His artworks are in the collection of Narita International Airport, Ohara Museum of Art, Okayama, Japan, Museum of Modern Art Shiga, Shiga, Japan, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan, Takamatsu City Museum of Art, Kagawa, Japan, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia amongst many others. Yamaguchi Akira lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
